TOP 96 Testing Game Rules
General Rules
- There is always one out
- All hitters will start with a 1 ball and 1 strike count
- 5 – 7 hitters will bat every inning as determined by play list posted in dugout
- Make all plays on the last batter of the inning
- Players hit during the inning when their name is highlighted on the play list
- Players play defensively at the position and in the inning listed on the play list
Hitting Rules
- Primary Position players will get 3 at bats
- If batter walks or gets hit by pitch count is re-set
- Primary Pitchers may get at bats and may play in the field (not guaranteed)
- Hitters must step into box when catcher throws ball to second
- Hitters take first base on third walk
Pitching Rules
- All hitters start with a 1 ball and 1 strike count
- With runner on first and second base unoccupied, pitcher must use slide step
- With runner on first & second base unoccupied, pitcher
can throw over once & can not pitch out - Primary Pitchers will pitch 1 inning and face 5-7 batters
- Pitchers only get 3 warm up pitches from the mound
- Catchers can throw down to 2nd but ball must be returned
directly to pitcher - After defensive outs ball must immediately be returned to the pitcher
Base Running Rule
- If batter walks or HBP, count is re-set, runner is placed on base (from 1B coaching box)
- In innings 1-3: Base runner must steal second base on 1st or 2nd pitch (if 2nd base is unoccupied)
- Innings 4-6: No stealing allowed. We would like the fielders to have the opportunity to turn double plays
- If first 3 batters of the inning don’t reach base then runner is placed on first
Once the player’s game is over, he has should make sure he has received his pitching or catching evaluation card, if applicable. He is then free to leave the event as has no further obligations to complete.
